Description:The Mold Engineering Manager is responsible for all activities related to the design and procurement of molds, as well as providing technical support to customers. Also, is responsible for managing the daily activities of machine shop personnel.
Duties:Manage and support: • Mold Design Processes • Machine shop personnel and processes • Mold Procurement processes • Mold builders and development of suppliers • Assist in the refinement of molding processes and process control • Promote and support safety initiatives and programs • Promote and support quality initiatives and systems including ISO processes • Support Lean and 5S initiatives • Promote teamwork with machine shop and technical staff • Work with customers in quoting product and mold quotations • Provide technical support to customers on product design, mold design and materials. • Promote SMED and Kaizen activities
Qualifications:• Must have 5 years machining and tooling related experience or have completed a machinist or mold maintenance apprenticeship or certification program • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of fits and mating surfaces • Must be team oriented with good communication skills Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
