Orbit Irrigation, the world leader in retail home irrigation products, has an immediate opening for an Inventory and Forecast Analyst in our North Salt Lake Facility. The Inventory and Forecast Analyst is a member of the Inventory Control Management (ICM) department and responsible for finding solutions to meet company goals for forecast error, inventory turns, fill rate and other company metrics. These objectives will be accomplished by (1) developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts, (2) monitoring inventory levels to ensure high fill rate without creating excess inventory, and (3) reducing current inventories of excess/discontinued products.
Duties:•Ensure that the forecast accurately reflects the sales plans by coordinating forecast development with sales management
•Ensure that forecast accuracy goals are met by monitoring demand and POS data and responding to significant forecast variances
•Ensure that customer and company fill rate standards are met by identifying and reacting to potential stock-outs
•Ensure that inventory standards are met by identifying and reacting to potential excess and discontinued inventory
•Analyze demand & POS history to develop quantitative baseline projections
•Collect and disseminate forecast intelligence and assumptions
•Coordinate judgmental review of baseline projections with sales management to develop forecasts that accurately reflect anticipated demand
•Report, review, and react to significant forecast variances
•Perform data entry of forecast adjustments and related information
•Ensure that forecasting timelines are followed
•Assist and promote individual and organizational learning in regards to past and current forecasting assumptions and forecasting best practices
•Work with sales and operations to ensure that sufficient inventory plans are set for high risk products (new products, high forecast error, long lead time, or "never out" products)
•Identify and review potential stock-outs and coordinate changes to the supply with sales and operations
•Identify and review potential excess and discontinued inventory and coordinate changes to the supply with sales and operations
•Drive disposition of excess and discontinued product - including raw materials
•Conduct and/or participate in special research, data analysis, continuous improvement, or other projects as approved or assigned
•Conduct and/or attend pertinent meetings
•Support efforts to recruit, coach, train, and develop team resources
•Promote teamwork - within the department and cross functionally
•Build and improve internal and external relationships
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this position:
•Ability and desire to work well with others - a team and relationship builder
•Advanced data analysis PC software skills (Excel, Access, MS SQL)
•Must respect the confidential nature of the information relative to duties.
•Strong analytical skills including: data analysis, statistics, trend analysis, regression, and statistical forecasting

Requirements:
•B.S. in Business Administration or equivalent
•Prior forecasting, inventory management, customer service, and process creation & improvement experience preferred
